The Act II Playhouse, an intimate, 130-seat professional theater, was named Best Suburban Theater in Philadelphia Magazine and has earned dozens of Barrymore Awards from the Theater Alliance of Greater Philadelphia. The success of ACT II serves as a beacon to other artistic entrepreneurs, and from your home at Station Square, you have a front-row seat to some of the best theater in the area.
The Ambler Theater, a 250-seat, two-screen movie house originally built in 1928, was restored to combine the beauty of the vintage architecture with modern amenities such as stadium decking, plush, wide seats, and state-of-the art projection and sound. Reopened in 2003, it's a movie lover's paradise. Each year, more than 80,000 people walk through the grand entranceway to enjoy art-house movies, foreign films and the type of silver screen entertainment they can't get at the local megaplex.
The playhouse and movie theater form the center of Ambler's artistic universe, but you'll find an amazing constellation of cultural activities throughout the year, from art shows and dog shows to comedy performances, concerts and parades.
